When will Harrisburg Global Academy open ?

The school will open in August 2026 to serve grades K-6.
HGA will add 7th and 8th grade each subsequent year.

No, HGA is a tuition-free public school.

The open application window will be advertised November 2025.
Families can apply for all eligible children to enroll during this time. The application window for the initial lottery will close on January 31st. The lottery will take place in the first week of February. Preference is provided to siblings, as well as children of staff and founding board members. If a student is not selected, they will be placed on a waitlist.
Invitations will be extended to those on the waitlist as seats become available.

Free bus transportation will be available at designated depot stops. Bus routes will be determined based on the addresses/communities of enrolled students.

Yes, the School will offer tuition-based before and after care.
Program specifics including hours, fees, and registration will be provided in the Spring/Summer of 2026.

Yes, Harrisburg Global Academy will participate in the National School Lunch Program and provide free and/or reduced breakfast and lunch for eligible students.

Yes, Harrisburg Global Academy will be a uniform-required school.

The school will develop sports, social, and academic clubs based on parent and student interest surveys and teacher expertise. Fall sports, clubs, and extracurricular offerings will be advertised in the summer of 2026. Before and aftercare programs will also be available.

Virtual and live parent sessions will be announced on social media and in the school newsletter starting in the late spring
or early summer.

Harrisburg Global Academy will implement a state-approved core curriculum for English Language Arts (ELA), Math, Social Studies, and Science. Specific details will be finalized with the Curriculum Specialist in the fall of 2025 and advertised at that time. The curriculum also includes a variety of electives.

Yes, the curriculum emphasizes World Language instruction (Spanish) as part of an elective block. STEM subjects will also be integrated into the daily curriculum and Science classes K-5 and STEM electives will be offered in MS.

Advanced Spanish and Math courses will be offered in the middle grades (beginning in 7th grade) for acceleration and high school credit. The School will also offer Honors tracks for eligible middle school students and gifted/talented classes for eligible elementary students.

Progress photos and construction updates will be shared as they become available. The school is currently designed to be a three-story building housing all classrooms, labs, and a
café/gymnasium. An athletic complex and fields are planned for Year 3.

Yes, there will be various committees and opportunities for parents to participate in the school community. The School will develop a Parent Teacher Organization prior to opening to ensure parents are engaged and informed.
